A Nightingale (Luscinia megarhynchos, Nachtegaal in Dutch) singing in the dense vegetation of Hop and Nettle in the beautiful Maasheggen area near Boxmeer, the Netherlands, on May 25th 2007.



A young Jackdaw being fed in our backyard. It's one of the nestlings that was in one of our chimneys. It's parent is partially 'leusistic', you can only just make out a white stripe on it's tail, but it also has white on it's wings, which is only visible when those are spread. Filmed june 4th 2008.

A large group of Geese passing over the dyke to land in the 'Oude Waal' on september 19th 2008. On the shore a large group of Cormorants and a bunch of Spoonbills.



An Osprey (Pandion haliaetus) hunting above the 'Oude Waal' in the Ooijpolder near Nijmegen on september 19th 2008. The sound quality is very poor, both due to the wind and the noisy cars, but it might be worthwile to turn on the sound for the second dive so as to hear the splash. A Water Rail foraging (very succesfully) at the fish pass of "Hollands Duits gemaal" near Nijmegen. Filmed on january 17th 2009.



A Black Woodpecker (Dryocopus martius) filmed in forest Duivelsberg on January 25th 2009. It removes pieces of bark to reach the insects living underneath. It can be seen licking up something after it has removed a large piece.



A Hawfinch (Coccothraustes coccothraustes) enjoying some seeds up in a not all too high tree. Filmed at Wylerberglake on January 25th 2009.



A Barn Swallow (Hirunda rustica) entering a barn in strong wind. Filmed on may 27th 2009.



A Great Tit (Parus major) entering one of my Swift nest boxes on December 31st 2009 at around 17:30. After a couple of minutes it turns into a ball of down.



A sleeping Great Tit (Parus major) is awakened by fireworks at 0:00 on December 31st 2009. No sound unfortunately, but the first couple of bangs are certainly visible...

A White-throated Dipper with food for his/her young waits for the right moment to enter the small cave in which it's nest hangs on one of the walls. Filmed June 19th 2010 at the waterfall near Nohn in the Eifel area in Germany.



A male House Sparrow (Passer domesticus) eating seeds from a seed feeder on September 20th 2010. The video shows how the Sparrow uses it's beak and tongue to remove the outer husk of the seed before eating it.
